Order carpet Stain Removers After more than 20 years in the carpet industry, in retail, manufacturing, technical, carpet installation, and carpet cleaning, we've run across a lot of over-hyped, over-marketed, under-performing spot removal (carpet stain removal) products, some of which have popularly known names. Many of these products remove stains well, but resoil later. Others do not work nearly as well as they claim. While in the carpet industry, owners of this site worked with a group of prominent industry officials to develop a repeatable test to evaluate carpet spot solutions. The test used a highly reproducible procedure to evaluate all type of carpet cleaners and machinery for carpet cleaning efficacy, resoil potential, and damage to the carpet fiber. The two solutions identified on this site Odosolv/Fabrisan/Odaclean (imported from Australia) and Superall rated highest of any product tested, but they were not readily available to consumers,. Odosolv/Fabrisan/Odaclean (marketed under three names) worked extremely well on a variety of stains and was the ONLY product that worked consistently well on pet urine. The melaleuca oil added to this product attacks the alkaline salts in urine and eliminates odor. It also produced zero resoil potential, which few products offer. Superall was such a good product on oily food and grease stains, we found no other product we would recommend. It is an excellent all-purpose spotter. Superall also is used by the petroleum industry to break up oil spills in oceans and rivers, so it is very environmentally friendly. Each of these products is marketed to professionals only through very limited distribution, but they are available to consumers through the Carpet Buyers Handbook.
